Bike-a-thon will
start at 9:00 a.m. (sign in starts at 8:30) |
|

|
|
The
bike route will start and end at the Butterfly
(Audubon Riverview) and go along the Mississippi
River Levee. |
|
|
|
The
ride will begin at 9:00 a.m. on March 29 at the
Butterfly. Sign-in will begin at 8:30 and
end at 9:00. There are going to be three start
times: 9:00, 9:05, and 9:10. |
|
|
|
The
first 5 teams (50 riders) to sign-in will start
riding at 9:00. The next 5 teams (50 people)
will start their ride at 9:05, and so on. |
|
|
|
There
are going to be two turn-around points. The
first will be where River Road intersects with
Causeway Boulevard (6 miles there and back). The
second one will be to where River Road
intersects with Huey P. Long Bridge (9 miles
there and back). |
|
|
|
Food
and refreshments including red beans and rice
will be part of the celebration at the end of
the ride. |
|
|
|
Teams
of ten riders will participate in the ride. Each
individual rider will be required to raise $100
as their entry into the ride. This $100 will
feed five school children for an entire year!! |
|
|
|
There
will be a raffle on March 29 after the ride.
Items include: Black Pearl Jewelry, a Wine
Basket (from the collection of Pete Matthews),
and a bike. |

THE EVENT CAUSE! |
|
All donations will be used to operate
feeding centers in rural communities in
Nicaragua!! We serve nutritious meals
and vitamins to over 800 children a day.
