The Problem |
|
Many rural Nicaraguan communities do not have
churches or a formal Christian education program
that encourages spiritual growth. Young adults
are tempted by drugs, alcohol and sexual
activity. It is a challenge for parents to keep
their children in school and out of trouble,
when they face a struggle daily to find work and
care for their families. It is difficult for
young adults to see a path in life that deviates
from that around them. |

OUR Approach |

Working with the local Young Life chapter, Amigos for
Christ assists in the promotion of spirituality in the
youth of Nicaragua. |

|
Our awesome God is at the center and is the reason for
our work. |

The Plan |
|
Young Life Nicaragua, or Vida Joven, uses the principles
of the Young Life program to guide and encourage young
adults on their spiritual path. We will employ a
Nicaraguan family to organize and manage a Vida Joven
Club in the Chinandega area. |

Experience |
 |
|
We hosted a successful Young Life mission trip at
Villa Catalina during the summer of 2007. Combining
sports activities, skits, music, dancing and
discussion, every club session was filled to
capacity. Vida Joven is active in many parts of
Nicaragua and has helped young adults embrace a life
of hope based on Christian principles. |
