We operate a school and feeding center in Villa Catalina serving over 200 students. They were happy to start 2009 with a new school building! Our feeding centers promote healthy eating habits and encourage school attendance. We hope to build a new Feeding Center for students that attend Las Tejanas Primary School. Over 100 students receive scholarships from Amigos for Christ. They are required to complete community service hours each month together. In Los Rotarios, we operate a feeding center serving 100 students. This year we will fix up their school and library. The Villa Catalina Library continues to serve the community as a place of learning and exploration for both children and adults. In 2009 we will begin working in the desperate community of El Chonco. We hope to build a school, water system, and health clinic.
