WHAT IS IT? A bathroom consisting of a flush toilet, shower, and septic tank designed to last for 25 years.
WHO NEEDS IT? Families living in rural Nicaraguan villages.
WHY? To eliminate intestinal parasites that breed in unsanitary latrines/fields and then infect family members, especially children. Also, to eliminate unnecessary skin disease due to lack of adequate bathing facilities. |
